Worker accused of stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry from customer's home

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Shelby County man is accused of taking thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and other items from homes where he was working or visiting.

According to arrest reports, Dallas J. Minton, 25, an employee of a remodeling business, took more than $10,000 worth of jewelry from a home where he was working on the weekend of September 23, 2014.

The Finchville man is also accused of taking more than $500 worth of jewelry and other items from a home where he was doing his laundry. He was found in possession of some of the items from that home and pawned the rest, police said.

An arrest report says Minton "has pages of pawned jewelry."

Among the charges he faces: theft by unlawful taking, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
