LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in Buechel Saturday afternoon.

The accident was reported at 4 p.m. on Bardstown Road at Breckenridge Lane.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said a woman driving a green Chrysler was headed north on Bardstown Road when for unknown reasons, she veered off the road and hit the male pedestrian. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, was not injured.

Police were unsure of the victim's name or age.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
