LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was hospitalized on Saturday with what his spokesman called a mild case of pneumonia.

The Louisville native is being treated by his team of doctors, according to his spokesman Bob Gunnell. Gunnell described Ali's condition as "stable."

"He was admitted earlier this morning, and because the pneumonia was caught early, his prognosis is good with a short hospital stay expected," said Gunnell.

The Ali family released no other information, citing a need for privacy.

Ali, 72, has battled Parkinson's disease for decades.
