Kentucky's 2015 legislative session begins

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky lawmakers began their 2015 legislative session in Frankfort on Tuesday.

Democrats in the House reelected Greg Stumbo as House speaker.

The State Senate begins the session with the largest Republican majority in history.

Key issues this session are expected to include local sales tax, heroin and right-to-work.

Lawmakers are scheduled to meet through Friday before taking a two-week break.

Governor Steve Beshear will give his final State of the Commonwealth address on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
