LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Three people have been arrested as part of a drug trafficking ring that police say extended across three states.
The suspects - Amber Beaumont, 33, of La Grange, KY, Gabriel Harris, 35, of Detroit, MI, and Kevin Rigby, Sr., 50, also of Detroit - were arrested by Jeffersontown police in the 5000 block of Shelbyville Road around 7:25 p.m. Jan. 26.
The arrest came as part of a narcotics investigation in which police say the trio were trafficking large amounts of prescription pills between Michigan and Kentucky. At the time of their arrests, the three had more than $16,000 cash in their possession.
Their arrest reports say police recovered thousands of prescription pills consisting of opana, oxycodone, xanax and hydrocodone.
All three are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on two counts of trafficking in controlled substances. Bond for Beaumont is set at $5,000; Harris and Rigby are being held on $25,000 cash bond. The next court date for each scheduled for Feb. 6.
