DIY drink machines coming to Churchill Downs

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Get ready DIY Mint Juleps on Derby Day. Levy Restaurants, the concessionaire at Churchill Downs, is introducing some of the newest technology in self-service beverage systems for the 2015 Kentucky Derby.

The Chicago-based food vendor plans to install Monsieur Bartender, an automated mixed drink system, around the new owner's suites.

Monsieur Bartender is tied to touch-screen, Cloud-based technology that enables consumers to customize drink orders in a matter of seconds and effectively bypass the human element.

The system contains up to 300 cocktail recipes and mixes drinks poured in a glass below a dispenser. Levy has already been testing the system at a few NBA arenas.
