LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police have arrested two men in connection to the murder of a man who was trying to help a robbery victim.

Maunyeah Haggard, 18, and Isaiah Jenkins, also 18, both of Louisville, were arrested early on Thursday.

Police said Haggard and Jenkins were involved in a dispute with a man they knew on Wednesday afternoon. During the dispute, one of the suspects pulled a gun and began robbing the man. A fourth man then came into the room and was shot as he tried to help the man being robbed.

The shooting victim was identified as 31-year-old Andrew C. Key-Roper.  Police said the suspects were identified by multiple eyewitnesses.

Key-Roper was a resident of the Russell Apartments, 515 S. 18th Street, the site of the shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound.

Haggard and Jenkins are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of murder and robbery. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 30.
