LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A husband and wife were found dead inside of a home Thursday following what appeared to be a murder-suicide, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said officers were called to the 6200 block of Fegenbush Lane around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

"When officers arrived and went inside the home they found a man and a woman believed to be in their 60's shot," he said, "both received fatal injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene."

The couple's neighbor, Shyqan Holoman, said he didn't know the couple very well, but he used to see the husband outside cutting his grass in the summer. Holoman had noticed in the last few weeks that he seemed to be upset.

"Maybe three weeks ago he was kind of grumpy," he said, "All I know is that he ran out of his house and slammed the door and then drove off and went somewhere, then around 8:00 he came back." Police aren't saying who shot whom in the apparent murder-suicide.

Mitchell said officers are not aware of any past problems involving the couple at that address.

The names of the couple have not been released. The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the case.
