Coroner: Gunshot killed man involved in W. Broadway crash

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Initially, it looked like a car crash that in which a man was killed, but a closer examination revealed the victim had been shot.

The wreck happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 900 block of W. Broadway. According to police, a man in a black Nissan Sentra was driving erratically when he crashed head-on into a pickup truck and then hit another car.

Jefferson County deputy coroner Jo-Ann Farmer said the victim, Kedren Lee, 24, died as a result of the shooting. Farmer would not say how many times Lee was shot.

LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said police believe the shooting happened in the 600 block of S. 16th Street. The LMPD Homicide Unit is now handling the investigation.
