RADCLIFF, KY (WAVE) - Two people were airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital from the scene of a multi-vehicle accident in Radcliff late Wednesday morning. A third person was injured in the crash.

Bryce Shumate, a spokesman for the Radcliff Police Department, said a vehicle occupied by a senior couple landed on its side in the four-vehicle crash, which happened around 11 a.m. at Lincoln Trail and US 31W in the Hardin County community. The couple was flown to Louisville for treatment. The third victim was taken by ambulance to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

The roadway was closed for about two hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
