Sole surviving teen involved in train crash improving

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The sole surviving teenager involved in a deadly crash between a train and a car has been upgraded to fair condition.

Waggener Traditional High School student Kismat Mistra, 18, remains a patient at University of Louisville Hospital. Mistra was a passenger in the car that was hit by a train at Beuchel Bank and Bardstown Roads on March 14. He previously was listed in serious but stable condition.

Fern Creek High School student Suk Man Rai, 19 and Seneca High School student Chita Chuwan, 16, died instantly. The driver of the car, former Iroquois High School student Nabin Thapa, 17, died a few days later.

The crash remains under investigation.
