LANCASTER, KY (WAVE) - A Kentucky woman pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that she gave her 1-year-old nephew beer and rum as she celebrated Kentucky's Elite Eight win over the weekend.

Angie Spoonamore took her 1-year old nephew to a party in Garrard County to watch the UK-Notre Dame game.

An arrest citation for Spoonamore claims she gave the baby beer and rum through a sippy cup, and at one point threw the boy to the floor.

He was taken to a hospital with an injured lip.

In a jailhouse interview with Lexington TV station WLEX, Spoonamore said she doesn't remember what she did to the child.

"It's really hard for me to believe that I tried to give that baby something to drink or hurt him," Spoonamore told WLEX.

The woman admitted she was drunk, adding that she doesn't even remember being arrested.

The WLEX report also indicated that she referred to the baby as her niece until another partygoer told her it was her nephew.
