CRAWFORD COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - The River Valley Humane Society (RVHS) is caring for a starving dog that turned up as a stray at a Crawford County farm.

Now known as Bella, the two-year-old female mixed breed is so emaciated, her ribs are visible. She also bears a large scar under her neck, indicating an injury caused by having been chained.

The farm owners contacted RVHS, and volunteers for the organization transported Bella to Edwardsville Animal Clinic in Floyd County for treatment. She currently is being evaluated.
