CLARKSVILLE, IN (WAVE) - Police say the deaths of a mother and daughter in Clarksville were not the result of foul play.

The women, both adults, were found dead inside a unit at Meadows at Green Tree Apartments in the 1500 block Byron Driver just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday by an officer asked to make a welfare check at the address. They were last seen Monday afternoon.

The coroner identified them as Sheilon Morrison, 47, and Annette Morrison, 67. The coroner said both had significant health issues prior to their deaths.

"A home health care provider arrived this morning, knocked at the door and didn't get an answer," Clark County Deputy Coroner Jeff Dickson said. "They called 911 for a welfare check."

"We're going to do some records researching, contact their primary care physicians and examine their past medical history," Dickson said.

Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer said one of the women showed signs of medical problems having possibly resulted in her death. The other woman appeared to have died of a possible overdose.

"I'm just really devastated," family friend Chris Drye said.

"I'm trying to connect these dots together and things aren't adding up and everybody is just really confused," Drye said

Family members remained at the scene as long as investigators.

"I'm just praying for the family. I hope they find out what's going on and what happened," neighbor Shanika Campbell said.

Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday in Louisville to determine the exact causes of death.
