LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - For two women, a stop at a gas station turned into a run for their lives.
The women stopped at the Circle K at La Grange Road and UPS Drive around 1 a.m. Wednesday, so one could use the restroom. That's when she says a man inside the store flashed a gun.
"She came outside immediately and said you need to get in the car and drive now. Go," one of the women told WAVE 3 News.
The woman says the man started chasing them in his car and firing shots at their vehicle.
"I was just screaming that I was going to die to the 911 people," she recalled.
The women flew down Hurstbourne and Westport Road trying to lose the other car while searching for police. They gave the 911 operators their location but were too scared to stop.
"120, 130, 40, 50, that's how fast we were going," one of the women said. "She was driving ducked down."
After the chase car disappeared, the women eventually saw two police officers at the Thorntons on Westport Road and Freys Hill.
"They said they were going to go find them. We thought they were just gone."
Police did make some arrests back at a Champs skating ring next to the Circle K. Four people were arrested, Matthew Murray, 18, Merima Dervisevic, 19, Nathaniel Stewart, 19, and Turner Marlowe, 19.
Police say they're still looking for evidence of the shots fired and found two guns in the car.
"It's scary, so scary," she said. "How do people be so mean?"
Police believe there was some sort of an argument before the chase started. The woman said her friend had not spoken to the suspect.
The four suspects are facing wanton endangerment, tampering and drug charges.
