LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Mt. Washington man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly robbing a home near Preston Highway in Louisville.

According to a police report, Brady Adkins, 23, along with an unnamed partner, approached a garage containing eight people. Upon his arrival, Adkins told the people to get on the ground, the report continues.

One of the people inside of the garage had a carrying concealed permit and was armed with a handgun but Adkins allegedly took it.

Another victim, who police said was a minor, attempted to run away from the garage. Adkins' accomplice reportedly chased the minor and eventually caught him by the back door of the home. Adkins then allegedly struck the boy several times across the head with his gun.

The minor's father was asleep during the robbery but eventually woke up because of the noise. He brought a gun to the garage. The father was allegedly shot at several times, and fired several shots back. Adkins' accomplice was shot once in the back.

After his accomplice was shot, Adkins allegedly ran away from the house. While fleeing, a neighbor's dog confronted Adkins in its owner's yard. Adkins then allegedly shot the dog two times.

Several people who were inside of the garage said they knew Adkins. They were able to identify him to Louisville Metro Police.

Adkins' accomplice allegedly told LMPD that Adkins was with him during the robbery.

The minor who was allegedly beaten by Adkins' accomplice suffered "knots to his head" and soreness, according to the arrest report. The dog that was shot was taken to a veterinarian and treated for gunshot wounds.

Adkins was charged with one count of robbery, two counts of wanton endangerment and one count of cruelty to animals. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
