LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people are dead and five others were taken to the hospital with injuries after separate shootings in Louisville on the Fourth of July.

The Coroner's office has identified one of the deceased as 28-year-old Tyron Jones. Jones was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound, and police were not immediately sure where the shooting occurred. On Sunday, the coroner's office said that it happened in the 400 block of 12th Street. Jones died at University of Louisville hospital from a gunshot wound to the body around 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the coroner's office.

Shortly after 8 p.m., another shooting in the 900 block of South 40th Street was reported. Police say Charles Shoulders called 911 to report that he had shot and killed his wife.

At approximately 9 p.m., 2nd Division officers responded to another shooting at the 300 block of North 38th Street. The responding officers were unable to locate a victim, but later found an 18-year-old man who had been transported to University of Louisville hospital by personal vehicle. Police said the victim says he was shot by an unknown male.

Yet another shooting was also reported in the 2500 block of West Broadway. Four women, ranging in age from 31 to 40, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There is no suspect info at this time.

Police say the shootings do not appear to be related, but they are still investigating.
