LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - How would you like to taste your favorite summer treat, without brain freeze? This July, there's a new way to celebrate National Ice Cream month! I stopped by Ghyslain Bistros in Westport Village to get the scoop.
Ghyslain in Louisville is celebrating this July with a special flavor of their gelato. Many people know gelato as Italian Ice Cream, but the differences don't end there.
"There's very little fat in it," Executive Chef Ghyslain Maurais said. "No eggs, no cream...it's a very pure flavor."
Another perk to the treat? No brain freeze! Usually a freezer is about 0 degrees, their gelato one is about 10 degrees. If you stop at a Louisville Ghyslain Bistros location, you can choose from a variety of flavors. This month's special is Coffee Cardamom Chocolate Chip. Chef Ghyslain also recommends coconut and pistachio.
