Semi driver injured after crashing on Outer Loop

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The driver of a tractor-trailer was impaled by a pole when his vehicle went off of the roadway and crashed in a ravine in Okolona.

MetroSafe confirmed the crash happened on Outer Loop near the intersection of Grade Lane around 8:45 p.m. Friday.

The driver was taken to University of Louisville Hospital. Police officials said he was last reported to be in critical condition.

Okolona Fire crews and Louisville Metro police shut down traffic around the crash.

No other vehicles were involved, and no one else was injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
