LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The mastermind behind a popular festival was arrested Saturday at that same event.

Police were called to the Strike & Spare bowling alley at about 3:30 p.m. when someone reported that Will Russell, 39, was not acting normal. When officers arrived they found Russell and Matthew Davis, 37, smoking marijuana in the parking lot. Officers searched Russell and found more marijuana on him.

The report outlining Russell's arrest states he clinched his fist, advanced toward officers in a threatening way and resisted when they tried to arrest him.

When he was finally placed under arrest, Russell apologized for "acting like a savage," according to the report.

Russell is also the founder of WHY Louisville and Funtown Mountain in Cave City.

"I buy the state a fun park. The state puts me in custody," Russell wrote on his public figure page on Facebook.

He faces charges of marijuana possession, resisting arrest and menacing.
