Man's body recovered from vehicle swept away by flood waters

CHARLESTOWN, IN (WAVE) – A man died after his vehicle was swept into a channel by flood waters in Clark County, according to Indiana Department of Natural Resources officials.
Indiana Conservation officers were called to Tunnel Mill Road at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday after a passerby noticed a vehicle in Fourteenmile Creek.

Once they arrived they recovered the body of Edwin Flaherty, 67, of Charlestown, from the vehicle.
Investigators said it appeared Flaherty had driven his vehicle into a flooded portion of the road and was then swept into a channel.
An autopsy will be performed Wednesday to determine Flaherty's cause of death.
