LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Real estate agents across WAVE Country say homes are selling faster than ever.

Lisa York with Mayer Realtors said in the past four weeks she's closed seven properties in Fern Creek.

"If you like a house it's not 'go home and sleep on it.' If you like it you really got to be aggressive about it," York said.

"Buyers are crazy busy trying to find something before school starts," said York. "The market is moving property really quickly so by the time [people] see a house there are already three or four contracts on it."

Louisville has become a desirable place to live with its major companies, weekend activities, quality schools and a low cost of living, explained York.

In Louisville, home values average around $95,000 which is about $50,000 less than the state average, according to the website Housing Predictor.

York advises to get your dream home by acting quickly and picking six non-negotiable items. If a home contains your top six priorities, it's time to make an offer.
