LMPD searching for bank robbery suspect

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man Louisville Metro police said robbed a bank in the Russell neighborhood was caught on camera. Now, officers are asking for the community's help to identify him.

According to the Sgt. Eric Black, with the LMPD Major Crimes-Robbery Unit, the man walked into the BB&T Bank, located at 2501 West Broadway on Aug. 6 and approached the banking counter. The man then handed the teller a note demanding money.

Once the teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled on foot through the rear alley.

The suspect is described as being 6' tall and weighing 190 pounds. He is believed to be between 25 to 30 years old with a short beard.
