Semi fire shuts down I-265 S near Taylorsville Road

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Both lanes of southbound Interstate 265 are closed after a semi caught fire near Taylorsville Road.
According to a MetroSafe supervisor, a tire blew on the big rig just before 1 p.m. and caught the tractor trailer on fire.
Crews shut down I-265, also known as Gene Snyder Freeway, near the Rehl Road overpass at 1:09 p.m.
The fire is under control, and crews hope to reopen the interstate soon.
