Credit union robbery suspect arrested
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police have arrested a man for the robbery of a credit union office.
Chris D. Priest, 34, of Louisville, was taken into custody about nine hours after the robbery.
Detectives say Priest entered the Kentucky TELCO Federal Credit Union office at 3740 Bardstown Road around 2:25 p.m. Aug. 19, approached and threatened to kill the teller before putting a note on the counter demanding cash. After getting the money, Priest fled in a silver Hyundai Santa Fe.
When he was arrested around 11:45 p.m. detectives said Priest was wearing the same pants and shoes he had on during the robbery. The shirt he was wearing was found inside the vehicle.
Priest was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on one count of robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 21. Bond has been set at $30,000 cash.
