Court documents reveal that in March, a UK security guard found a suspicious recording device in a restroom at the College of Medicine. When a UK police officer tried to check it out, Smith allegedly locked himself inside the restroom and told the officer he was looking for the camera, which he claimed to use to record his labs.
The documents say the video shows Smith placing the camera in a corner of the restroom, looking directly into the lens and then turning off the lights.
UK police said they found 354 photos and videos containing sexual contact and nudity. Two of the victims were 10 and 14 years old, police said. Seven of the victims were recorded in a student lounge restroom at the College of Medicine and other allegedly were recorded inside Smith's Lexington apartment, a home in Woodford County and a lake house near Paducah.
Smith faces 20 charges, including 13 for voyeurism and two involving child pornography.
