LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - In an effort to activate an urban space, the mayor unveiled his new public art initiative.
Connect/Disconnect: A Public Art Experience will be on display along the Louisville Loop at the Waterfront between 8th and 12th streets.
The art consists of works from six nationally renowned artists including a local artist from Louisville.
"Public art is also a great way to invest in our people, in our neighborhoods and bring light and attention to areas that we want to focus on," Mayor Greg Fischer said.
Connect/Disconnect is free and open to the public through November.
Periodic live and interactive events are also planned.
