LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police arrested a man in connection to a July homicide.

Christopher Winstead, 20, was arrested Friday night in connection with the death of Frederick Baker, 65, whose body was found near Blevins Gap Road on July 8.

Police said Winstead offered to give Baker a ride, and Baker accepted. Winstead drove Baker to Blevins Gap Road, where he stabbed him numerous times, according to Winstead's arrest report.

The report confirmed Winstead is employed at the Seelbach Hotel in downtown Louisville.

Baker's family members said they've never met Winstead and believe he was a stranger to Baker.

The victim's older brother, Stanley Baker, said he wants to know why Winstead offered him a ride.

Baker suffered from liver cancer and was extremely weak, Baker's family said.

Winstead is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on $500,000 bond.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
