Suspect arrested in armed convenience store robbery

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police have charged a man in connection with the robbery of a convenience store in the Shelby Park neighborhood.

Donte Lamar Jackson, 35, was arrested at his home on Sept. 8.

His arrest report says at 10 p.m. on Aug. 24, Jackson entered the Shell Food Mart at 1123 S. Floyd Street armed with a box cutter knife and demanded the cash. When the clerk refused to hand over the money, Jackson grabbed merchandise from the store and fled.

Police said their investigation led them to Jackson.

Jackson was arraigned this morning and remains at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $25,000 cash bond. He will be back in court on Sept. 18.
