LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Eight people were injured Thursday morning when a TARC bus was rear-ended by a car, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.
The accident happened about 7:15 a.m. in the 4500 block of Bardstown Road at Havenview Drive.
Mitchell said the driver of a silver Mercury Sable was southbound on Bardstown Road, struck the back of the TARC bus, which also was southbound on Bardstown Road. The bus had stopped to let passengers on and off the bus.
The driver and four passengers aboard the TARC bus were injured. They were taken to either University of Louisville Hospital or Suburban Hospital for treatment. The driver and two passengers from the Mercury also were injured. They, too, were taken to a hospital. Mitchell said all of the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.
