LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Board of Zoning and Adjustments has given a green light to a project that had been protested over the summer by some.

The FoodPort project, slated to be built on the corner of 30th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, would bring together farmers, suppliers and consumers for locally grown and produced food.

Controversy had surrounded a proposed methane digester that was dropped from the plan last month.

The plans for the project will now go to the Louisville Metro Council.
