LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - During his tenure University of Louisville's athletic facilities went from average at best to some of the best in the country. So, it's not a surprise when Athletics Director Tom Jurich's name appears on the short list anytime there's a job opening at a big name program.
Jurich has been rumored to be a candidate for the vacant athletics director job at the University of Texas.
Wednesday evening he was in attendance at the WISH Awards, hosted by WAVE 3 News reporter Connie Leonard, and he told Sports Director Kent Taylor that he's happy right here in Louisville.
"I've always said the grass is extremely green in Louisville, Kentucky, and I mean that, because I've seen a lot of my colleagues around the country in my position go take other jobs that's supposed to be bigger, better, and they're not," he said. "I think I have the best job in college sports, and I want to stay here as long as everybody will have me."
