LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police arrested a robbery suspect Sunday morning accused of stealing several items from a victim's vehicle.

Demarco Smith, who is referred to as female in the arrest slip but as male in jail records, was arrested around 4 a.m. on Sunday. According to the arrest slip, Smith, 25, entered the vicitm's uninvited around 3:15 a.m.. He then bit and struck the victim while stealing a wallet and cell phone charger from the car.

Police found Smith at South 4th Street at Iowa Street where an officer detected a "very strong odor" of alcohol and appeared intoxicated.

Police say Smith had been involved in other altercations throughout the evening.

Smith is charged with robbery and public intoxication.
