Domestic violence incident leads to drug trafficking arrest

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man wanted on several charges stemming from a domestic violence incident was caught trafficking drugs, according to his arrest report.

On September 30, a woman called police and reported that Brent Goldsberry, 32, assaulted her in home. She said Goldsberry kicked in her door, punched her and held a gun to her head, telling her "Today will be the day that you go."

Another man who was with Goldsberry took the woman's TV and DVD player, according to her statement.

The woman suffered a cut on her lip and swelling.

Police said Goldsberry and the victim previously lived together.

An officer located Goldsberry on Tuesday. When he was approached on South 16th Street, the officer saw him pull something out of waistband and throw it. A bag containing multiple bundles of crack cocaine and heroin was found nearby.

Goldsberry is charged with burglary, robbery, wanton endangerment, intimidating a participant in the legal process, assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance and violating his conditions of release.
