LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police have arrested the man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store who used a syringe as one of his weapons.

Four days earlier, just after 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 4, Louisville Metro police say Medley went into the Speedway at Poplar Level Road and Clarks Lane, walked behind the counter and began taking cartons of cigarettes. After being confronted by store employees, Medley pulled out a syringe, made stabbing motions toward the workers. Holding a razor blade in the other hand, medley told the employees to get back or he would give them HIV.

Medley fled with the cigarettes, but he was recognized by officers after they watched the store's surveillance video. Police made their positive identification by comparing a photo of Medley to an image from the surveillance video.

Medley remains at Louisville Metro Corrections following his arraignment on a $5,000 cash bond. He will be in Jefferson District Court on Oct. 19.
