Names of 2 killed in weekend homicides released

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people killed in separate shootings during a violent weekend in Louisville have been identified.
The body of Shakoor Gordon, 60, was discovered in an alley off 19th and Jefferson Streets on the morning of Oct. 11 by people heading to church. The coroner's office said Gordon, who lived on W. Market Street, died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The second victim was killed later that day in the Shawnee neighborhood.
Nychol Jeffries, 27, was found in a car in front of a home near 37th and Market suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She later died at University of Louisville Hospital.
No arrests have been made in either cases. Anyone with information to come forward by calling the LMPD Anonymous Tip Line at 574-LMPD (5673).
