LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - More than 3,000 people hit the ground running Saturday morning for the Urban Bourbon Half Marathon.
Of those, nearly 2,600 finished the 13.1-mile race, which started downtown, then continued around Cave Hill Cemetery and through Cherokee Park before finishing back in the heart of the city.
Louisville's Patrick Hynes won the men's half marathon, crossing the finish line in 1 hour, 15 minutes, 24.7 seconds. Second-place Rizik Lado, also of Louisville, was less than a minute behind Hynes at 1:16:16.4.
Taryn Sheehan, also of Louisville, won the women's half marathon in 1:24:27.9. Louisville's Katie Casto Hynes was second in 1:28:41.5.
The race was put on by the Louisville Sports Commission.
