Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle Thursday evening.

Pleasure Ridge Park firefighters on the scene advised MetroSafe dispatchers the victim died after being hit in the 8200 block of Terry Road around 7:35 p.m.

The victim was a white male, possibly in his 50s, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell. According to Mitchell, a silver Toyota SUV was going southbound on Terry Road when it struck the man in the roadway. The man died at the scene.

An investigation into the accident is underway, but no charges have been filed at this time.
