Man dies after Portland shooting

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man has died after a shooting on N. 26th Street in the Portland neighborhood Friday afternoon.

According to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell an officer was on patrol in the area when he saw a person lying down in the 100 block of N. 26th around 3:15 p.m. The officer stopped, gave the man aid and called for EMS. The victim was transported to University Hospital, where he died.
