State police investigating break-in at Simpsonville PD

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Approximately $30,000 in cash and an unknown quantity of narcotics and handguns were stolen from the Simpsonville Police Department early Friday morning, according to a news release from the Kentucky State Police.

KSP Post 12 Frankfort was notified of the break-in at approximately 1 a.m. Friday by the Simpsonville Police Chief. According to the release, an unknown person or persons entered the police department, broke into evidence lockers and made off with the money, drugs and guns.

A complete evidence audit is being conducted by the Simpsonville Police Department.
