Suspect in street robbery arrested

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man from southern Louisville Metro is charged with the armed robbery of a person in the Portland neighborhood.

Billy J. Tobin III, 20, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. November 15.

Louisville Metro police officers responded to a robbery of a person at 29th and Bank Streets around 10:40 p.m. They were told by the victim that Tobin had put a gun in their face before taking off running down an alley. The victim said Tobin went into a house in the 2700 block of Bank Street.

Police found four people inside the house. The victim identified Tobin and another person as the people who were at the robbery scene.

During a search of the house police found a loaded handgun under a dresser in an upstairs bedroom.

Tobin is being held on a $5,000 cash bond at Louisville Metro Corrections. He was scheduled for arraignment this morning.
