Police searching for vehicle that ran over woman during robbery attempt

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman was run over by a getaway vehicle Wednesday afternoon during an attempted robbery in the Fairdale area.

Witnesses said the owner of a mechanic's shop that's under construction at a former NAPA Auto Parts location arrived at the business with his fiance. They noticed someone had broken into the building.

A man and woman ran out of the building, hopped into a white Chevy Suburban and took off with the business owner's fiance hanging onto the SUV as she tried to grab the keys. Witnesses said the woman hung on for 100 to 150 feet before she was was finally pushed off the vehicle. The Suburban then ran over her.

The woman's condition is unknown, but her fiance said she was responsive.

Police are searching for the Suburban and the man and woman responsible for these crimes.
