GEORGETOWN, KY (WAVE) - A police pursuit through two counties north of Lexington late Wednesday night ended at the Toyota plant in Georgetown and led to a nearly hour-long lock down there.
WLEX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Lexington, reports Kentucky State Police tried to make a traffic stop in Grant County, but the driver sped away, leading police on a pursuit along Interstate 75 into Scott County.
Troopers told supervisors at Toyota Motor Manufacturing that the driver and a passenger got out of the car and jumped a fence onto Toyota property. A worker told WLEX the factory was put on lock down for nearly an hour.
A SWAT team was called in and spent about 35 minutes searching the property. The suspects were found hiding between cars in a parking lot.
Police have not released additional information about this case.
