LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - As we kick off the week of Thanksgiving we have a special edition of Pass the Cash. It's a story to remind us we are not only nourished by a big Thanksgiving meal. We can feed our hearts and souls every day by helping someone in need.
It all started with a Pass the Cash nomination form on wave3.com.
"Travis a little boy that goes to my school, he's in need of a van lift," Kim Thomas of Crossroads Elementary said.

Travis was born with cerebral palsy.
Kim said, "He's getting a little heavier so his Mom's having a hard time getting him min and out of the van."
Within minutes of airing Travis' story on Pass the Cash we received a little more cash to pass to the family but then, Sam Cooke with BraunAbility said, "One of our technicians sent me an email after your story and said we need to help these people if we can."
Joining what the school calls Team Travis was Superior Van and Mobility, Ally, Protective and BraunAbility, along with the entire student body and staff of Crossroad Elementary.
"Thanks to your story here we are today," Rob Llyod with Superior Van and Mobility said.
Travis' family was invited to a pep rally centered on gratitude and thankfulness. Travis' Mom, Missy, was very grateful for all the school has done for her family and then during the pep really Missy got a little suspicious.
Tim Hargas with BraunAbility addressed Travis, "I gotta tell you buddy your school and your community think you are a pretty important guy."
For Travis' family this year Christmas is coming before Thanksgiving.
"We have got a brand new University of Kentuckyy Wildcat Blue Wheelchair accessible vehicle for you," Tim said.
A new 2015 handicap accessible BraunAbilty Chrysler van, but for Travis and his family it is life changing.
"I had no clue," Missy said. "None at all."
The new van was awesome but most would agree nothing can beat Travis' smile. It has been said alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.
"I'm so thankful. I couldn't be more thankful this year," Missy said.
