LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here are five stories WAVE Country will be talking about today:

1. Dry day: Most of today will be dry but we will see more rain moving in tonight. WAVE 3 News Storm Tracking Team Meteorologist Christie Dutton has the extended forecast through the weekend.

2. Standoff suspect: A man convicted of killing a girl in 1987 is facing new charges for an incident Sunday morning. Police said John McLeaney kidnapped an woman, robbed the store she worked at and held her hostage.

3. CO shooter: The man police arrested for killing three people at Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs on Friday grew up in Louisville, according to an article by the New York Times. WAVE 3 News has been in contact with at least one person who said they went to high school with Robert Dear in Louisville.

4. Escaped inmate: Police are looking for Arias Silcox, who got away from the Pikeville Medical Center while receiving treatment. Silcox was serving time in the Pike County Detention Center for contempt of court and identity theft. He is considered dangerous. Anyone who knows where he is should call 911.

5. Deadly holiday weekend: Five people were killed in Louisville between Wednesday and Saturday, making 2015 the deadliest year in the city since 1979. The latest victim, Gyasi Carothers-Spotts, was found in a car in the Bashford Manor neighborhood Saturday night.
