NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) – Fire crews worked for hours to put out flames inside of a home in New Albany.
Floyd County dispatchers said the fire started in the 600 block of Vincennes Street around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday.
When New Albany Fire Department firefighters arrived they reported heavy smoke coming from the rear of the home.
Fire officials said the home, which has been converted into a duplex, was vacant when the fire started.
The home was built in 1969. Tuesday was the third time the home had caught fire in 2015.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
