LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - In the spirit of the holidays, many across WAVE Country are helping those in need through the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. Even those you might not expect.

Alvin the Dog helped ring the bell Saturday outside a Walmart off Westport Road just outside of the Gene Snyder Freeway.

Alvin, a 5-year-old Leonberger, is trained as a therapy dog and gives back to the community in various ways (he also visits nursing homes, schools and hospitals).
