LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are searching for the gunman who shot a teenager on the south side of California Park near Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School Monday afternoon.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the shooting happened about 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of Gallagher Street.

The victim is described as being in his "middle teens." Mitchell said the boy was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting caused school leaders to increase security at Wheatley Elementary to Level 5 and delay dismissal about a half-hour. Buses may get some students home a little late.
There are no suspects, Mitchell said. Police are canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses.
