LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Toreze Bland was the victim of Friday afternoon's homicide in the Shawnee neighborhood, according to community activist Christopher 2X.
Around 1 p.m. Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the alley of the 600 block of S. 43rd St, according to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell. Upon their arrival officers found a black male fatally wounded. Although the Jefferson County Coroner's Office has not released the identity of the victim, 2X confirmed that it was Bland, 22.
According to 2X, Bland's brother and two cousins have also been victims of homicides.
A memorial will be held for Bland at 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at 646 S. 43rd St.
