LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Muslim community gathered Saturday afternoon to stand in solidarity against terrorism, and against attacks on their faith.

The Louisville Coalition of Shared Voices for Peace welcomed people of all faiths to denounce violence in the name of religion near the Lincoln Memorial at Waterfront Park.

They also voiced concerns about the rhetoric of some Republican presidential candidates, who are calling for a ban on Muslim refugees.

People from many backgrounds spoke, but all all had a similar message, saying everyone must come together, instead of turning against each other.

Muslims in attendance say their mosques welcome anyone wanting to learn more about their faith by setting up a time to visit.
